Garden City Beach is located between Surfside Beach and Murrells Inlet, and few short miles away from all the activities of lively Myrtle Beach. This family oriented beach is unique in that it’s a peninsula separating the Atlantic Ocean from the marshes and creeks leading to Murrell’s Inlet. This affords residents the option of breathtaking oceanfront views or a spectacular peek at the native Lowcountry wildlife habitations on the inland side.

THE PIER AT GARDEN CITY BEACH

Garden City Pier has been voted “Best Fishing Pier” on the Grand Strand in 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2008. It stretches nearly 700 feet out into the Atlantic for incredible unobstructed views of the ocean, and walks along the pier with the ocean breeze caressing your face are always free.

The Pier Café has great food, live bands and karaoke nightly in the summer months for the adults to enjoy and the Garden City Pavilion Arcade has over 200 games of skill and chance to delight kids of all ages. The arcade is nonstop entertainment and it’s an affordable and fun family outing.

DINING

Garden City has many fine restaurants with a diverse range of choices. The Conch Café has been called irresistible due to the unhindered view of the ocean from its massive deck. The delectable seafood and traditional American fare served by an enthusiastic and gracious staff only add to the evening’s dining experience. Their signature Conch Fritters create a tropical memory that lasts all the way home, and urges you to return for more. For a more casual meal with the whole family, the hotdogs and fries at the original Sam’s Corner across from the pier have been bringing folks back for over 30 years. With the Grand Strand area only a few minutes away, every imaginable cuisine is a quick trip up the road.

ACTIVITIES

Fishing, birding, shopping, boating, surfing, beach walking, golf, and water sports are just a few of the ways to spend the sunny days and cool evenings around Garden City. The recently completed creek walk stretches 1300 ft along the inland side of the peninsula and is wide enough for jogging, biking or dropping a fishing line. One of the most recognizable names in golf calls Garden City home. The Indian Wells Golf Club is considered one of the most scenic and challenging courses in the area, with a hole that was on the Grand Strand “Dream 18” list. If sailing the deep blue sea is more your style, the Marlin Quay Marina is a full service marina that specializes in charted fishing expeditions ranging from the tranquil inlet to deep sea fishing many miles offshore in the warm waters of the Gulf Stream to tackle the big game fish. Thrill seekers can soar high above the surf on a parasail adventure, and the new Extreme Blaster Jet Boat will satisfy your need for high speeds on the water.

EVENTS

This close knit little community has many special functions for families throughout the year to enhance the quality of living in this special area. The Sun Fun Kids Fair brings together friends, neighbors and visitors for good wholesome family fun, games and food. The sound of live music can be heard floating out into the evening air from the pier most every night in the summer months, so you can kick back and enjoy or get up and boogie down.

BEACHES

The strikingly scenic beaches of Garden City blend seamlessly into the ocean surf, and are part of the 60 miles of wide soft white sand beaches that make up the Grand Strand. They are always well maintained for the safety of the beachcombers, and the cleanliness of the Grand Strand beaches in is one of the major draws for many visitors to the area.
